Less than three weeks from now and our "bunso" will be celebrating her birthday party. We are all very excited for that. However, for me, celebrating her birthday this year holds a deeper meaning as we have fought hard the past year for her health.
Mischa is a diagnosed case of Billiary Atresia. She underwent the Kasai procedure when she was two months old but that might not be enough as the doctors told us early on that Kasai procedure is only a temporary measure and that we would have to undergo a liver transplant as soon as signs of Mischa's liver deterioration occurs.
We were told to prepare for transplant at around one year old. Thankfully, her progressive health gives us hope that we can delay the transplant indefinitely.
She is now turning one year old this September and we can never be grateful enough for each and everyday that we see her laugh, play, and throw horrifying tantrums!
Me too! I never thought I'd actually pray to witness a child throw tantrums and hissy fits until the end of time..but now, as long as she's around to throw them, I say bring it on! :)
